9/11 Weekend of Service Green Waste Event: Green Waste Bin Volunteers Needed

Become a Green Waste bin volunteer for the Green Valley Fire Safe Council on this 9/11 Weekend of Service & Remembrance! 

What: Help people place their green waste in the bins. 

When: Saturday, September 10th from 8am to 1pm

Where: 1634 Rockville Road, Fairfield, CA 94534 by the Cordelia Fire Station 

Green Waste Bin Volunteer Requirements: 

  • Help people position their vehicle next to the bin
  • Monitor where there are gaps in the bin and inform Traffic Coordinator volunteers where the next vehicle should position their car. 
  • Ensure safety protocols while unloading the waste (no chain saws, make sure people are throwing waste in bin safely).
  • Safely assist in unloading the green waste and work to compact the vegetation. 
  • Make sure to wear long sleeves, long pants, and close-toed shoes.
