Help Kids Build Healthy Futures —  Assistant Cooking Instructor

Put your passion for healthy cooking and working with children to work for a meaningful cause!

Kids Cooking for Life (KCL) is a nonprofit organization that teaches nutrition and inspires lifelong healthy cooking and eating habits through hands-on cooking classes for children from low-income and underserved communities.

Our programs are offered during and after school at local schools, community centers, and recreation departments throughout the Bay Area.

If you are passionate about nutrition, education, culinary arts, public health, or working with children, KCL offers a rewarding opportunity to gain practical, real-world experience while making a meaningful impact in the community.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic volunteers to assist our instructors with in-person cooking classes held during the school day and after school at locations throughout the Bay Area.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead instructor during hands-on cooking classes.
  • Help students follow recipes and prepare healthy meals.
  • Teach safe knife skills and proper measuring techniques.
  • Reinforce nutrition education and healthy eating habits.
  • Assist with classroom setup before class and cleanup afterward.

This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in education, nutrition, dietetics, public health, child development, culinary arts, or community service to develop valuable experience while helping children build healthy habits for life.

Interested? Email renee@kidscookingforlife.org to learn more about this volunteer opportunity. Join us in inspiring the next generation of healthy cooks—one class at a time!
