General Questions
What is the CVNL Volunteer Portal?
The portal is an online platform where volunteers can discover opportunities and nonprofits can recruit and manage volunteers—all in one place.
Is the portal free to use?
Yes! The portal is completely free for both volunteers and nonprofit agencies.
Why did CVNL switch platforms?
We transitioned to a new system to provide a more user-friendly experience, improved reporting, better communication tools, and more flexibility for both agencies and volunteers.
For Volunteers
How do I sign up?
Click “Sign Up” on the homepage and create your account using your email address or preferred login method.
How do I find volunteer opportunities?
Use the search and filter tools to browse opportunities by interest, location, skills, or cause area.
Do I need to apply for opportunities?
Some opportunities allow instant sign-up, while others may require an application or approval from the organization.
Can I track my volunteer hours?
Yes. Once logged in, you can track and view your volunteer hours directly in your profile.
How do I cancel or change a shift?
Log into your account, navigate to your scheduled opportunities, and select the option to cancel or edit your shift.
For Nonprofit Agencies
How do I access my agency account?
Your Agency Manager will receive an email with instructions to activate your account. If you need help, contact us at portal.manager@cvnl.org.
Can I update my agency profile and opportunities?
Yes. You can edit your organization’s profile, add new opportunities, and update existing listings at any time.
How do I post a volunteer opportunity?
After logging in, select “Create Opportunity” and complete the required fields such as description, dates, and volunteer needs.
Can I manage and communicate with volunteers through the portal?
Yes. The platform includes tools for messaging, scheduling, and tracking volunteer participation.
Will my existing data be available?
Your agency profile and active opportunities have been transitioned to the new platform. You can review and update them as needed.
Troubleshooting & Support
I didn’t receive my activation or password reset email. What should I do?
Check your spam or junk folder first. If you still don’t see it, contact us at portal.manager@cvnl.org.
I’m having trouble logging in.
Try resetting your password. If the issue persists, reach out to our support team.
