Who We Are
Marin Friends of Ferals works closely with Marin Humane and local veterinarians to provide low-cost spay/neuter services for feral felines. We assist Marin County residents in trapping cats for Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). We re-home feral cats to new outdoor properties where they help control rodent populations while being housed and fed by the resident(s). We supply our volunteers with cat food to feed the nearly 500 feral cats living in colonies from Oakland to Cottonwood and dozens of locations in between. We provide vet care for sick and injured feral cats. We foster feral kittens for adoption through Marin Humane.
What We Do
We are an all-volunteer nonprofit that exists on donations and fundraising for cat food, supplies such as traps and cages, and vet care, including spay/neuter. All donations contribute to the care of feral, stray, and community cats.
We help promote community awareness for responsible care of feral and homeless cats and the need to spay and neuter to avoid overpopulation and suffering from starvation and/or illness.
We pursue workable solutions without euthanasia to humanely reduce feral cat populations while improving the quality of life for these victims of human neglect.
We continue to build a volunteer base in Marin, thereby reducing the cats' suffering and increasing their comfort and survival rate through daily colony management and care-taking.
We work toward our goal of having our Marin community free of kittens born wild, where no cat capable of living in a home is lacking one, and where those living in colonies are never in need of food, water, shelter, managed care, and genuine concern.
