Greeter Volunteers Needed for Earn It! Keep It! $ave It!
La Luz has been preparing tax returns for low-income families using a cadre of volunteers. Last year the program brought back to the community $170,000 in tax refunds. On average, each client received a tax refund equal to one month of their annual income. This is a significant benefit.
The La Luz goal this year is to reach a target of serving 200 clients and obtain for them more than $350,000 in tax returns total. This would be a fantastic help for our community. We are in need of EKS Greeter volunteers for this effort.
* Shifts are Saturdays 9am to 4pm, can work the whole day or 1/2 day (4 or 8 hour shifts)
* Bilingual Spanish/English is required
* Program runs from February to April 23rd.
*Background checks will need to be completed. Training and test support will be provided.
Essential duties:
*Help greet individuals
*Get them started completing their intake sheet and ensure they brought all of their forms and documents to complete their tax returns.
*Once the intake form is completed the greeter will help scan the documents for the tax preparers to process.
