Help Kids Build Healthy Futures — Event Planning & Fundraising Opportunities
Put your organizational and fundraising talents to work for a meaningful cause!
Are you experienced in event planning, fundraising or project management? Or are you looking to build your resume and gain hands-on experience in nonprofit event management? If so, Kids Cooking for Life (KCL) would love to have you on our volunteer event planning team.
For more than 17 years, Kids Cooking for Life has empowered children from low-income and underserved communities throughout the Bay Area with hands-on cooking classes that teach nutrition, healthy eating, and lifelong cooking skills. Our programs are offered in schools, recreation departments, and after-school programs.
We're currently seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help plan two of our signature fundraising events:
- Friendraiser – December 2026
- Kids Cook-Off Cooking Competitions – Spring 2027
As a volunteer, you'll play an important role in making these events successful.
- Responsibilities may include:
- Coordinating event logistics
- Soliciting donations and sponsorships
- Assisting with fundraising activities
- Managing timelines and planning tasks
Most of the work can be done remotely on your own schedule, making this a flexible opportunity for busy professionals and students alike.
Planning for the Friendraiser begins in Fall 2026, with planning for the Kids Cook-Off beginning in January 2027.
Volunteers typically contribute about 5 hours per week, increasing to approximately 10 hours per week during the month leading up to each event.
Whether you're an experienced event planner or looking to develop new skills while giving back to the community, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of local children.
