Family Volunteer Day 2021 - Sonoma County

~Families Making a Difference~

November 20th, 2021 is Family Volunteer Day, a national day of service that celebrates the power of families working together to make a difference for their neighbors and communities.

Take time with your family this season to help others and make a positive mark on your community. Sonoma County opportunities will benefit all the organizations listed below.

Volunteer for one or more of these activities, whatever best suits your time and talent. All contributions are greatly appreciated!


Opportunities:

Goatlandia Farm Animal Sanctuary and Education Center

Come down to Goatlandia with your family and friends this Family Volunteer Day to help us take care of and learn more about our animals. Vegan snacks and beverages will be offered during the event. 

When: Saturday, November 20th from 9am to 1pm 

Requirements:

- Close-toed shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty 

- Please wear masks and COVID-19 social distancing protocol will be followed

Santa Rosa Creeks

Come on down to Prince Memorial Greenway for a Family Volunteer Day Saturday Cleanup event!

All tools will be provided. Bring your own snacks and drinks. 

When: Saturday, November 20th from 9:30am - 11:30am

Where: Meet at the Olive Park Footbridge, 105 Orange Street in Santa Rosa

Secret Santa, CVNL

Holiday Cards - Participate in the Holiday Spirit from the comfort of your home by becoming someone's Secret Santa! This opportunity entails fun creativity as you write Holiday cards for someone in the community. Click here for more information.

Comfort Kits Needed - Put together comfort kits for evacuees in the event of a disaster. For more information and for instructions on how to put together a comfort kit, click here.

 

Redwood Empire Food Bank

Food Packing / Warehouse Volunteer Shifts Available - Volunteers are vital, helping nourish 82,000 children, seniors and adults in Sonoma County. In recognition of Family Volunteer Day, sign up for a shift or shifts and help glean and package fresh fruits and vegetables for individuals and families throughout our community. For more information click here.
