Volunteer: Outreach ChairThe Outreach chair will arrange for MPC to participate in the various poetry and literacy festivals throughout the Bay Area including S.F, Litquake; Petaluma Poetry Walk; Bay Area book Festival; Sebastopol Poetry Festival and others. The Outreach Chair will coordinate with the festival or event promoters; notify members of the opportunity to read by working with the Newsletter Chair, and signing up and organizing readers from the MPC membership. The outreach Chair is authorized to create an Outreach committee composed of members of MPC. MPC would prefer the outreach Chair to be a member of the Board to participate in the event planning with the Board .... meetings are held in the evening of the second monday of the month, usually on zoom. Volunteer: TreasurerThe treasurer's job is to manage the MPC checking account and CD. The treasurer writes checks for monthlynthly reader's honorariums and other obligations of MPC, reviews bank statements and reconciles them with the checkbook; reviews CD status; communicates with Event Chair re reader's honorariums; with the Membership Chair re deposits, and the bookkeeper re both checks and deposits. The treasurer reviews the financial reports provided by the bookkeeper and with the board chair prepares the annual budget. Ability to use Quick Books and Excel would be helpful. MPC prefers this to be a Board position so the treasurer can answer questions at board meetings and participate in the financial and future planning with the Board. Board meetings are held on the evening of the seconde second Monday of the month, usually on zoom.
