Volunteer: Front Desk at The Bird Rescue CenterWe're looking for Volunteers who can commit to regular on-site shifts at our front desk as part of our Response Team. This is an opportunity to connect with people over the phone, offer real-time solutions to a variety of concerns, coordinate field rescues, problem-solve situations with fellow agencies across the five counties we serve, educate the public about best practices for resolving wildlife conflicts, and become an integral part of rescue and rehabilitation without working directly with birds. Regular weekly shifts include: Answering calls knowledgably and compassionatelyResponding to texts promptlyManaging data entryKeeping accurate recordsWe receive calls from all over the Bay Area, and sometimes across the country and around the world. Reaching someone knowledgeable, trained to evaluate the situation, and calmly provide directions can make all the difference in bringing about a successful rescue. Volunteer: Help transport sick and injured birds!We're looking for folks who are willing to drive to and from our facility and finder locations to pick up/drop off sick and injured birds, or transfer them to/from other rehabilitation facilities. The furthest is facility is in Fairfield. This role is on-call and you can choose which days you want to be on-call. "Baby bird season" is our busiest time of year and we need all the help we can get! This role entails feeding baby birds, prepping their diets, cleaning dishes, mopping, doing laundry, general cleaning and maintenance of clinic. 3 shifts are available: 8am-12pm, 12pm-4pm, 4pm-8pm If interested, please sign up for our orientation on May 3rd at 1:30 pm- 3pm.
