YVC Leadership:
(UPDATE: OCTOBER 2007: While YVC is no longer up and running, we kept this page and others up, in case you felt like starting your own fantastic do-good-ery and needed some general ideas! )
So you’ve gotten a taste of what YVC has to offer and you want a little more, do ya? That’s right…no one can resist the charm that is YVC! Except for the people who can, but they don't count!
Now, we don’t just let anyone infiltrate our stellar organization. No siree bob! Our Youth Volunteer Corps Leaders have to pass a 36-point inspection which includes but is not limited to demonstrating the ability to break-dance to polka, diving off very steep cliffs blindfolded, and most importantly, understanding when the coordinators in charge are absolutely and completely full of it.
This would be one of those times.
What YVC leaders do need to demonstrate however, both on the application and in the interview, is a genuine interest in serving our community, and the ability to make a year-long commitment. A YVC Leader would also need to have the organizational skills necessary to plan and lead a project with fellow leaders, not to mention an overwhelming desire to push people around. Er, wait. That’s us. Um, we mean, uh…
So if you want to learn more, or sign up go to the download page and check out the nifty YVCL Brochure to see what it's all about and the YVC application if you are jumping in feet first!
