Volunteer with the Secret Santa Program
Below are the different ways you can be a part of the Secret Santa magic. Please note the time frame for each opportunity.

WE ARE GRATEFUL TO THE TREMENDOUS RESPONSE FROM THE COMMUNITY. LEARN HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED WITH SECRET SANTA BY ADOPTING A HEART.
Heart Assembly- Volunteers put together the heart ornaments in small parties or groups. Primarily active mid-Oct through mid-November, The Volunteer Center.
Teens doing Community Service hours have 2 early evening parties (6-8 pm Nov 8, Nov 16) where they can come and assemble Secret Santa hearts. Teens / middle school children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent.
Heart Assembly Party Hosts– Volunteers oversee/host groups of volunteers putting together heart ornaments at The Volunteer Center, or assist at off-site parties at schools or senior centers, through mid-Nov.
Social Media / Facebook Marketing team– Looking for a team of Facebook users to work on a Facebook site for Secret Santa and to update it about every 2nd-3rd day during the public times of the program.
Secret Santa Elves– volunteers work with the businesses who sponsor hearts to deliver hearts to the business locations as needed and pickup the donated gifts to bring back to Heart Central for distribution to the agencies. Active November & December. Commitments: Elf Trainings are Nov 15th (12-1:30) and Nov 16th (5:30-7:00). Hearts and display materials are distributed to Secret Santa locations over the following two weeks, depending on the business’ decoration plans. Gifts are picked up as needed until Monday, December 19th when all gifts and unfulfilled hearts are returned to Heart Central.
Heart Central– volunteers sort gifts into agency boxes, help elves & agencies move gifts to/from cars, wrap gifts, and select gifts from donations to match requests. Active from Dec 9-Dec 21st. Volunteers sign up for shifts of 3-6 hours.
KZST Secret Santa Marathon– volunteers sign up for 4-6 hour shifts to answer the phone or to greet walk-ups to process Secret Santa donations in cash, checks, or credit cards. Marathon runs from 5am Tuesday, December 21st through 9am Wednesday, December 22nd . Workers are needed at the radio station to answer phones and at the mall to cover the donation desk.
Agency Gift Assistants/Gift Delivery Teams– Volunteers are authorized to pickup and deliver gifts from Heart Central to the agency locations. Active from Dec 13th through Dec 22nd, mostly during the workday. It is helpful if volunteers have a truck or car with good cargo space. Some gift assistants may be needed to help agencies wrap gifts at the agency location or at The Volunteer Center. Gift Delivery teams go out in pairs to deliver gifts to individuals without transportation.
Secret Santa Letter Fulfillers– Volunteers work on a team that calls each letter writer to verify the requests and then works with the coordinator and SS Shoppers to fulfill the gift wishes. Knowledge of Excel preferred. Active from late November, most activity is between Dec 6th-23rd, culminating with Gift Distribution - Dec 21-22.
Bike Assembly– volunteers work to assemble donated bikes. Usually occurs between Dec 9th and Dec 13th, assuming we have donated boxed bikes
SS General Volunteer– located at the Volunteer Center and provides help where needed during the 2 weeks before Christmas – gift transfers, gift recipient calling, admin office tasks, wrapping gifts, etc. Scheduled as needed.
